102 Main Street 712-930-3842The City of Sanborn, Iowa (population 1400) is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. The Sanborn Police Department is a full-service police agency dedicated to improving the quality of life for our community and visitors.
The starting salary is $53,000 following graduation from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy.
The physical agility test and Police Officer Selection Test (POST) will be administered to all qualified applicants. Dates T.B.D and more information will be emailed to qualified candidates at a later date.
“Certified police officers in the State of Iowa, who are current officers or have no more than a six-month break in service, may be exempt from taking the Police Officer Selection Test (POST) and the ILEA physical test as they have already passed these tests to become a certified officer.”
Entry Requirement and Skills
To be eligible you must have graduated from high school or an equivalent, be 21 years of age or older, and be able to meet minimum standards for Iowa Law Enforcement officers as indicated by the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy.

Post-offer physical, drug screen, and MMPI are required.
